To activate the fixed price bands for the moving average curve, select an active chart and either click on the MA icon in the toolbar or select moving average from the analysis menu. Click on 'price' in the channels section of the dialog box. Enter the width of the band in pence and choose its colour. Click ok.

A channel will be drawn on either side of the moving average curve a constant value above and below. Choose values from 0 to 50.

Channels are often used to filter out some of the minor price fluctuations especially before buying and selling. Other channel types can be used with the moving average curve, including percentage and standard deviation (bollinger) bands.
